Do you have an equivalent English idiom for this Arabic one?

In Egypt we have an Arabic idiom which literally says "He who hunts for ghosts should know how to get rid of them". It actually means that you should never attempt to do something which you couldn't bear its consequences.

So, my question is: "Is there an English idiom that has the same meaning?"

Thanks in advance :)

You've made your bed; you'll have to lie in it.

If he makes the bed, he'll have to lie in it.

He who makes the bed has to lie in it.
